This is a good carrier however it does not fit on American Airlines airplanes. I removed all of the metal frame and it still would not fit.
It would not fit between the passenger seat in front of you and the seat cushion where you sit
I had to squish the carrier turning my cat sideways inside the carrier. And then it was still a huge struggle to get the carrier off the floor
Just an FYI for those V planning to travel
My Frenchie is a little tank at 33lbs & he’s a little tall and long for the breed, but this carrier worked great for him. I flew United (first class) with no issues, but I’m not sure they would’ve allowed this carrier in economy because it’s a little bigger. You have to detach the wheel base to slide it under your seat, so that was extra work, but worth it since I could pull him around the airport. The flight attendants also allowed him to poke his head out throughout the flight, which kept him from feeling confined & anxious.Of note, he easily fit inside the carrier with it fully closed, and he could lay down and easily turn around as needed. He was not cramped in the carrier at all, but the space under the seat was cramped because the airline makes you push the carrier deep under the seat. That aside, the trip went smooth for the most part.Quick PSA — I highly recommend packing a decent-sized portable fan - not the tiny hand-held fans. I packed a 3-speed USB fan & a travel battery pack to keep it powered (3-4hrs). I purchased both on Amazon before the trip. Thank goodness I did because the plane was very hot & stuffy since it’s winter. His carrier was in a small space under the seat & we almost had a heat emergency. He became agitated & started heavy panting within minutes of us boarding the plane & getting settled. He would’ve overheated very quickly if I didn’t have a fan. I immediately hung it inside one end of the carrier to circulate cool air & he began to settle down after about five minutes.Again, this event was due to the temperature inside the plane, not because of the pet carrier. This pet carrier is great! But the entire flight was hot/stuffy & the fan was a life-saver for sure!
This product is great. Moves very easily. I love it that you can take the carrier off the wheels so it can fit under the seat. I have a Boston *20 lbs, She fits great.
This carrier is perfect in every way. Tess loved it from out of the box, climbing in and making it a little 'safe' getaway. She curled up after exploring and went to sleep. Rolled around the airport happy inside. She could poke her head out the top, see outside the upper, sides and forward, so not frightening. Though tall inside, the design allows the carrier to 'squash' down for under the seat. Great design to be able to remove the wheels and out in the overhead. A perfect, happy trip to head in cabin to Kauai! Thank you to the owner of the New York company, who rescued me from Tess happily having gnawed on the zipper before we left ---- "Owner Failure Only" I'd left it out for her happy occupancy prior to trip. Owner sent me a second one over night for our trip, without charge! I gave the other to a seamstress to use for her dog. No service exceeds that. (I guess he liked my funny self deprecating guilty email. Above and beyond! Thank you. Thank you. It's a perfect get away for hotel trips; she loves to curl up inside. Cozy.
