These gloves work best with longer fur. My mom has a short haired cat that hates to be brushed but doesn't have much getting much fur brushed with these. But I tried them on my kitty who has much longer fur and it worked much better. Still not magic, but a good option for pets that don't care for brushing.
These gloves are ok for grooming your pet. While I think that they should only be used in between their normal grooming. I would not rely on these gloves alone.
I have tried using this one on my cat a few times and doesn't do much in removing any shed hair. She doesn't really like it touching her and she fights me every time. It's a waste of time for me and for her especially with both of us putting up a fight for it not to work properly. It is a great concept just executed poorly
Grabbed this set for my new puppy to train him to enjoy being groomed.I will start off by saying he is a short hair breed so I am not sure how well this would work on a long hair. I don’t foresee an issue just might need to be cleaned multiple times during a grooming session.He seems to like the feeling of the silicone nubs being brushed through his coat and the silicone covers seem to do a good job of holding onto the dead hair that is brushed out. A couple of the holes on the silicone covers were not punched out properly but that was easily fixed with a small Phillips head screwdriver.The Velcro wrist straps make sure the gloves are secured to my hands properly.Happy with this item.
My 6 year old pitbull granddog LOVES to be massaged with these gloves! He will lay still for as long as you’ll do it…No need for the peel off sheet because his fur is micro short & nothing comes off - maybe a few little short hairs here & there.On the other hand, my 15 year old big ol’ pitmix HATES to be brushed with any other tool except these! Forget brushes & furminators - anything hard like that, he freaks. But gloves? Where it’s just your hands stroking him? LOVES it! And his thick coat is shedding for the summer & literally drops while he walks if he’s not brushed (see bowl of fur pic!)I like the peel off silicone layer - I’ve never had a pair of gloves with this feature &, while they can be tricky since so much fur comes off, they do help with quick cleaning to keep going.Using without the peel off layer, it’s not that hard to pick off the fur.
